This project consists of the aggregation of carbon offsets generated from the direct and indirect reductions of greenhouse gas emissions through zero tillage management in Alberta and thus the emission reductions are quantified using the Quantification Protocol for Conservation Cropping, version 1.0 April, 2012 provided by Alberta Environment. Tillage management practices are not regulated in the province of Alberta and the activity has been undertaken voluntarily by farmers as part of this project. These practices are not required by law and are done on a voluntarily basis and are thus additional.
