Clover Bar Landfill Gas Generating Station

The Clover Bar Landfill Gas Capture and Destruction Project is a landfill gas (LFG) to energy project located at the Clover Bar Landfill in Edmonton, Alberta. The Clover Bar landfill produces methane-rich gas as a result of the anaerobic decomposition of organic component of the waste. This gas is collected and conditioned for commercial use by three Caterpillar 1.6 MW generator sets that were installed in 2005. The collection system consists of some 70 active wells connected to two 12" collection headers.
