Cargill High River Fluidized Bed Boiler Offset Project

The Offset Project results from the implementation of a fluidized bed boiler (FBB) fuelled by biomass sourced from bovine by-products and other compostable plant wastes including meat, pen manure, paunch, dissolved air flotation (DAF) grit, sludge, tricanter solids, and specified risk materials (SRM). The FBB will displace a portion of the natural gas used for process steam requirements and fossil fuel generated electricity through on-site generation at the Cargill High River Beef Processing Plant.
